Free Tools
Two free calculators for anyone pricing or planning a spray-on bedliner. The cost estimator turns your bed size and options into a realistic 2026 price range. The material coverage calculator works out how many gallons of coating a job needs at a given thickness. Both run in your browser, and nothing you enter is stored or sent anywhere.

Choose your bed size, coverage and options, then click Estimate to see a typical professional price range with a line-item breakdown.
Estimate only. Base ranges reflect published 2026 pricing for professional spray-on liners (most full-size beds about $525–$700, with a wider spread of about $470–$800). Option prices are editorial estimates of typical add-on charges. Many shops include the tailgate in the base price; this tool shows it as $0 to $100 to cover both cases. Severe rust needing metal repair, taxes and full-body work are excluded. Get a written quote from an authorized applicator for your exact truck.
Bedliner material coverage calculator
Material Coverage Calculator
Enter the area, target dry-film thickness, percent solids and a waste allowance to estimate the gallons of mixed coating a job needs.
Based on theoretical coverage of 1,604 sq ft per gallon at 1 mil for a 100% solids coating (1 US gallon = 231 cubic inches). Real-world waste varies with texture, wind, equipment and technique; 10–25% is a common planning range. Quick-fill bed areas are rough under-rail approximations. Measure your bed and add the tailgate and rail tops for over-rail jobs. Check your product data sheet for actual solids, mix ratio and recommended thickness.
How to use these numbers
For truck owners: the cost estimator gives you a reasonable range before you call shops, so you can spot a quote that's unusually high or suspiciously low. It isn't a substitute for a written quote. Applicators are independently owned, local labor and rent costs vary, and the condition of your bed can change the price. When you compare quotes, make sure each one specifies the same coverage, thickness, product system and warranty. Our 2026 bedliner cost guide explains each price factor, and our guide to choosing an authorized ArmorThane applicator lists the questions to ask.
For applicators and estimators: the coverage calculator shows how strongly thickness drives material use. Going from 100 to 150 mils on the same bed adds 50% more material. Use your product's data sheet for solids content and recommended thickness, track your real waste rate over several jobs, and plug that in rather than relying on the default. If you're building a business plan around these numbers, see our overview of starting a bedliner business.
For the most accurate material estimate, measure the floor, both sides, the front wall, the wheel wells and the tailgate, and add them up. Bed dimensions vary by make, model year and cab configuration.
Frequently asked questions
Where does the 1,604 sq ft per gallon figure come from?
A US gallon is 231 cubic inches. Spread 1 mil (0.001 inch) thick, it covers 231,000 square inches, or about 1,604 square feet. That's the theoretical maximum for a 100% solids coating before any waste.
Why does percent solids matter?
Solvent or water in a coating evaporates, leaving less film behind. A 75% solids product has to be sprayed thicker wet to reach the same dry thickness, so it covers less area per gallon. Most professional polyurea bedliner systems are 100% solids.
Are the cost estimator's prices guaranteed?
No. They're estimates based on published 2026 pricing and typical add-on charges. Your applicator's written quote is the only firm price.
How much waste should I plan for?
It depends on texture, wind, equipment and experience. Many applicators plan for roughly 10–25%. Heavier textures and outdoor mobile work tend toward the high end.
